Senior Medical Science Liaison at Intercept Pharmaceuticals

Michelle D. Edden has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Michelle D. began their career at Pfizer as a Clinical Science Manager, focusing on arthritis and pain. Michelle D. then joined Amgen as a Health Outcomes & Pharmacoeconomics Regional Medical Liaison. After that, Michelle worked at Roche as a Medical Science Liaison, specializing in virology and leading Medical Affairs activities in the areas of influenza and transplantation. At Genentech, they held multiple roles, including the Senior Field Operations and Resource Manager, where they oversaw education and training plans for the Ophthalmology Medical Science Liaison team. Michelle also served as the U.S. Medical Science Director covering transplantation and as a Senior Medical Science Liaison in infectious diseases. At Tetraphase Pharmaceuticals, they held the position of Director, Field Medical Affairs – Infectious Disease, where they engaged in scientific exchange and strategic interactions with external thought leaders, supported medical education, and participated in medical writing. Michelle then moved to Novartis Pharmaceuticals as a Medical Science Liaison Director for respiratory. Currently, they are working as a Senior Medical Science Liaison at Intercept Pharmaceuticals, focusing on non-viral liver diseases and associated treatments. In this role, they have developed onboarding tools and leads the Thought Leader Engagement Pillar of Excellence.

Michelle D. Edden has a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from St. John's University. Michelle D. also completed a Managed Pharmaceutical Care and Economic Outcomes Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to their doctoral degree, they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Long Island University. Additionally, Michelle completed an American Society of Health System Pharmacists Accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency at Brookdale Hospital and Medical Center.
