Israel Villanueva, MD, MBA, FCCP, CHCQM has worked in various roles throughout their career. Israel is currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer at Intercept Telehealth since September 2020. Israel also served as an Intensivist at Northridge Hospital Medical Center from March 2010 to October 2010 and at Washington Hospital Healthcare System from April 2008 to March 2010.

To further their expertise in critical care, Dr. Villanueva pursued a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University Medical Center from August 2007 to July 2009. This experience provided him with the necessary skills to become an intensivist.

Israel Villanueva, MD, MBA, FCCP, CHCQM has an extensive education and certification background. Israel received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Harvard University from 1989 to 1993. Following this, they pursued their medical education at New York Medicine Jobs and obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from 1994 to 1998.

To further their medical training, Dr. Villanueva completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Columbia University from 1998 to 2001. Israel obtained board certification in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine in August 2001.

Dr. Villanueva continued their education at Stanford University School of Medicine, where they completed a Critical Care Medicine Fellowship from 2007 to 2009. Israel obtained board certification in Critical Care Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine in October 2009.

Expanding their expertise beyond the medical field, Dr. Villanueva pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Healthcare Executive Management at UC Irvine from 2015 to 2017.

In addition to their educational achievements, Dr. Villanueva holds multiple certifications. Israel received certification in Health Care Quality and Management from the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians (ABQAURP) in October 2017. Israel also holds board certification in Critical Care Medicine and Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine, obtained in October 2009 and August 2001, respectively.
