Alexey Tarasov

Alexey Tarasov has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning and software engineering. Alexey most recently worked as a Senior ML Scientist at Intercom, starting in November 2022. Prior to that, they held the role of Senior Machine Learning Scientist at 2K from August 2021 to November 2022.

Before their roles in the gaming industry, Alexey worked at Informatica as a Principal Software Engineer (Machine Learning) from January 2019 to July 2021. In this role, they focused on developing high-value features that brought a competitive advantage to the company.

From 2016 to 2018, Alexey served as a Senior Software Engineer at Ionic Business Systems, where they developed mission-critical web applications for various organizations.

Earlier in their career, Alexey worked as a Watson Software Engineer at IBM from January 2015 to October 2016, contributing to the design and implementation of a new methodology to measure accuracy in the Watson Engagement Advisor (WEA) pipeline.

Alexey also worked as a Data Scientist at Deloitte Ireland from February 2014 to January 2015, where they developed predictive models for customer lapsing and churn. Additionally, they served as an Assistant Lecturer at Dublin Institute of Technology in 2013 and as a Visiting Researcher at NUI Maynooth, National Centre for Geocomputation in 2012.

Alexey has a strong research background, as demonstrated by their work as a researcher/programmer at eNTERFACE Workshop in 2010 and as a Lead Trainer at C.T.Co from February 2008 to January 2010.

Alexey Tarasov completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Machine Learning at Technological University Dublin from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from the Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TSI) between 2006 and 2009. In addition to their academic achievements, Alexey holds certifications including CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer and CompTIA Project+ Certified Specialist from CompTIA. Alexey also obtained an International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Foundation certificate and a Sun Microsystems certification as a Sun Certified Java Programmer.
