Américo Duarte

Américo Duarte has a diverse work experience in various roles within the software engineering field. Américo started their career at Universidade Federal do ABC as a Software Developer from 2010 to 2012. After that, they worked as a Software Developer at InMov for a few months in 2012. Américo then joined Smart Fit as a Software Engineer in 2012 and later transitioned to the role of Lead Software Engineer from 2014 to 2016. At Smart Fit, they were responsible for creating and maintaining applications to improve staff productivity and optimize results. Américo actively participated in the migration of applications from EngineYard to AWS and upgraded Ruby on Rails applications.

In 2016, Américo moved to Locaweb as a Software Engineering Specialist until 2017. Américo then joined Vindi as a Lead Software Engineer for a brief period. In 2018, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at Aceita. From 2019 to 2020, they worked at Vindi as the Head of Software Engineering and later as a Software Engineering Specialist.

In 2020, Américo joined Webdoctor.ie as a Software Engineering Contractor and quickly progressed to the role of Senior Software Engineer. Américo eventually became the Lead Software Engineer at Webdoctor.ie, taking on responsibilities like mentoring the technical team and making architecture decisions. During their time there, they contributed to the growth of a healthcare application that facilitated appointments, prescriptions, and medicines.

Currently, in 2022, Américo is employed at Intercom as a Product Engineer. Américo is part of a multidisciplinary team focused on product-led growth and works on billing processes, integrations with third-party software, and applying solutions to increase the customer base.

Américo Duarte attended the ETEC - Escola Técnica Estadual de São Paulo from 2006 to 2007, where they obtained a degree in Information Technology as an Information Technology Technician. Américo then went on to study at USP - Universidade de São Paulo from 2010 to 2013, pursuing a Bachelor of Information Systems in the field of Computer Science. Apart from their formal education, Américo also holds a certification in KMP Foundation I from Lean Kanban Inc., although the specific date of certification is not provided.
