Ciaran Lee

Ciaran Lee is Chief Engineer and Co-founder at Intercom, and previously served as CTO of Intercom for 10 years. He returns to the company after taking a break to spend time with family and dabble in angel investing. In his new role, Ciaran will focus on strategic technology projects. His current project is revamping Intercom’s billing system and customer billing experience.

Previously as CTO of Intercom, Ciaran led Intercom’s engineering team along with Darragh Curran, with a particular focus on scaling the platform’s infrastructure and ensuring reliability, availability, and security for Intercom’s customers.

Before Intercom, Ciaran was CTO of Exceptional, a SaaS company that created developer tools and was acquired by Rackspace, where he met fellow Intercom co-founders Eoghan McCabe and Des Traynor. Ciaran holds a B.A., B.A.I Computer Engineering Degree from Trinity College Dublin.
