Paul Vickers

Paul Vickers has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. Paul currently holds the position of Staff Data Infrastructure Engineer at Intercom since April 2022. In their previous role at the same company, they served as a Senior Data Engineer from February 2021 to April 2022. Prior to this, Paul worked as a Data Engineering Manager at Intercom from April 2019 to February 2021. Paul also held the position of Lead Data Engineer from May 2017 to April 2019.

Before joining Intercom, Paul had a long career at Microsoft. Paul'sroles included Senior Software Engineer, where they led a global virtual team in transitioning from automation-focused test engineering to data-driven quality for the Windows Maps App team. Paul also developed and deployed a consolidated telemetry data processing pipeline using Microsoft's distributed Big Data platform. Paul served as a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, where they directed the test strategy for the touch keyboard on Windows tablets and convertible devices, as well as led the testing of OS components and designed backwards-compatible time zone infrastructure and API. Paul was also responsible for overseeing the testing of Windows XP Starter Edition and developing web-based test case and bug management tools for offsite vendors.

Paul Vickers attended Ulster University from 1995 to 1999, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science.
