Tumisé Alade

Tumisé Alade has a solid background in software engineering and development. They started their career in 2020 at Rise, where they worked as a Software Developer. During this time, they collaborated with a team to build an Edutech platform using Python (Django), Postgres, and JavaScript (React). They also successfully deployed the Django backend in a Docker container for production, resulting in a 30% improvement in software delivery.

In 2020, Tumisé Alade moved to Bitnob, where they took on the role of Software Engineer. Here, they worked on a new project that allowed people in their home country to convert fiat currency to crypto. They were responsible for integrating various components such as fund collection, KYC verification, SMS and email updates, and exchange rate updates. Additionally, they implemented business-oriented features like the Django-based NobCredit API for crypto-backed loans and the Bitnob Oauth API for third-party access to customers' wallets.

In 2022, Tumisé Alade joined Udemy as a Software Engineer. During their time there, they contributed to migrating data from a Python monolith to a Kotlin microservice. They implemented existing functionalities from the monolith system and incorporated new requirements to enhance the overall system. They also participated in peer sessions and collaborated with cross-functional teams across different time zones for bug resolution and smooth refund processing.

Most recently, Tumisé Alade joined Intercom in 2023 as a Product Engineer.

Tumisé Alade completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Agile Software Development from the Technology University of the Shannon, Athlone Campus, from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, Tumisé obtained a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Bells University, completing the degree in 2018.
