Giacomo Paci

Giacomo Paci has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Giacomo is currently working at INTEREL as the Head of Embedded Engineering, overseeing the development of embedded systems. Giacomo also serves as the Amministratore unico (sole administrator) of Interel S.r.l. and Interel Technology S.r.l. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Embedded Engineer at INTEREL from 2020 to 2023.

Prior to their current role, Giacomo worked as a Design Software Development Senior Staff Engineer at Flex from 2018 to 2020. Giacomo was responsible for designing software for development projects.

Before joining Flex, Giacomo worked at DWE srl as an Electronic and computer science Ph.D. engineer from 2016 to 2018, focusing on electronic and computer science research.

Giacomo also gained experience at Eliwell by Schneider Electric as a Firmware Engineer from 2015 to 2016, developing firmware for electronic devices.

Giacomo worked as a freelance Electrical Engineer Consultant from 2013 to 2014, providing consulting services in the hardware and software system design fields.

From 2009 to 2014, they held the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Electronics, Computer Science and Systems (DEIS) at the Università di Bologna, where they supervised young researchers and graduate students in various research projects related to wireless monitoring and control systems.

In 2009, Giacomo co-founded Wispes s.r.l., an Italian Wireless sensor network Start Up, and served as the sole administrator until 2013. Giacomo managed various aspects of the company, including administration, customer relationships, and product development.

Additionally, Giacomo worked as a consultant at the Department of Electronics, Computer Science and Systems (DEIS) at the Università di Bologna from 2011 to 2012. Giacomo was responsible for designing a wireless sensor node for building control and evaluating different sensors for energy efficiency and reliability.

Furthermore, they worked as a consultant for the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Engineering (DEIAgra) at the Università di Bologna from 2009 to 2010. Giacomo designed a wireless monitoring system for agricultural pest control using GSM/GPRS communication protocol.

Giacomo also had a visiting researcher role at the Engineering Department in Ferrara (EnDIF) at the Università di Ferrara in 2008, focusing on analyzing and improving low swing IC buses by studying adaptive body bias and adaptive supply voltage techniques.

Giacomo Paci attended Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna from 1998 to 2005, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Subsequently, from 2006 to 2009, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) at the same university, specializing in Electronics, Telecommunication, and Computer Science.
