Hannah Wastyk

Co-founder, CEO at Interface Biosciences

Hannah Wastyk is the co-founder and CEO of Interface Biosciences, a platform therapeutics company focused on utilizing the microbiome to treat inflammatory disease. Prior to this role, they worked as a PhD candidate at Stanford University from June 2017 to July 2021. During their time at Stanford, they also served as a teaching assistant for courses in Molecular and Cellular Engineering Lab and Gut Microbiota in Health and Disease. Before Stanford, they worked as a teaching assistant for Introductory Chemistry Laboratory at the University of Delaware. Additionally, they gained research experience as an undergraduate research intern at the University of Delaware Chemistry and Biochemistry department and as a research intern at the Penn State Cancer Institute. Throughout their various roles, Hannah has developed a passion for mentorship and teaching.

Hannah Wastyk obtained their Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Delaware, where they studied from 2013 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Palmyra Area High School from 2009 to 2013. Recently, Hannah pursued a Ph.D. in Bioengineering, specifically focusing on Microbiology and Immunology, at Stanford University. Hannah successfully completed their doctorate program at Stanford from 2017 to 2021.
