Rick Sharp has extensive work experience in various roles, starting from 1998 to the present. Rick is currently employed as a Senior Software Engineer at Interfolio since October 2020. Prior to this, they worked at Bark.com as a Senior Software Engineer from April 2019 to October 2020, where they primarily focused on adding functionality and enhancements to an existing codebase using PHP, Python, jQuery, Sass, and AWS.
From June 2011 to February 2019, Rick was employed at CauseLabs as a Development Lead. In this role, they were responsible for the entire development process, starting from gathering requirements through virtual or on-site workshops with clients, working with designers to determine the most efficient and elegant solutions that meet project requirements.
Before that, Rick worked at Web Services Corporation as a Senior Developer from August 2006 to June 2011. Here, they developed consumer shopping carts, membership systems, and intranet websites using PHP, Perl, jQuery, AJAX, and HTML. Additionally, they integrated major credit card processors such as Authorize.Net, LinkPoint, PayPal, USAePay, and Skip Jack.
From May 2004 to August 2006, Rick held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Group Travel Planet, LLC. During their time there, they initially started as the sole IT professional and later expanded the IT department.
Prior to that, Rick worked as a Senior Developer at Tennessee Online Solutions from October 2000 to May 2004. Here, they worked on a cabin rental management system using Visual FoxPro and Visual Basic 6.0, as well as developed websites using PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL.
Rick's earliest work experience was as a Collision Center Manager at Craig Zinn Automotive Group from February 1998 to April 2000. In this role, they managed a staff of 35 employees, significantly increased monthly gross profit, and implemented operational improvements.
Rick Sharp attended Highlands Christian Academy from 1987 to 1990 and obtained a Diploma. Rick then went on to study Computer Science at Florida State University from 1990 to 1991 and at Florida Atlantic University from 1991 to 1992. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the following: Microsoft Certified Professional from Microsoft in September 2000, Network+ from CompTIA in April 2000, and A+ from CompTIA in February 2000. In the future, they are also planning to obtain the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in May 2023.
