Archibong Akpan

Archibong Akpan, PhD, is an accomplished climate expert with extensive experience in climate science and policy. Currently serving as a Climate Expert Reviewer for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) since November 2016 and as the Director of Climate Science at SubjectToClimate since March 2021, Archibong also holds a position as a Climate Policy Expert with UN Climate Change. Previously, Archibong facilitated research and fieldwork at the University of Ibadan and worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for the Widows and Orphans Empowerment Program (USAID). Academically, Archibong earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Climatology and Climate Change Studies from the University of Uyo, a Master of Science in Quantitative Geography from the University of Ibadan, and a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Uyo.
