Diana Urge-Vorsatz

Vice Chair at IPCC

Diana Urge-Vorsatz is a prominent climate change expert with extensive experience in academia and international policy. From October 2015 to January 2024, Diana served as Vice Chair of Working Group III at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Prior to this role, Diana was a Full Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy at Central European University from June 1994 to January 2017, where responsibilities included directing the Center for Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Policy (3CSEP) and overseeing the PhD program. Additionally, Diana worked as a Research Assistant in the Energy Forecasting Group at Berkeley Lab from September 1994 to January 1996. Comprehensive educational qualifications include a Doctor of Environment in Energy and Resources from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Doctor of Environment in Environmental Science and Engineering from UCLA.
