Susan Osborn is the Director of the Northwestern University Music Academy since September 2022 and has extensive experience at Northwestern University since 1987, serving as a pianist and instructor in private and group piano, as well as interdisciplinary courses. Osborn is a faculty member for Keyboard Skills at the Bienen School of Music, teaching music majors in a core course, and has been part of the Interlochen Center for the Arts summer faculty since 1996. Additionally, Osborn coordinates programs for junior piano classes and community adult piano classes at Northwestern. Prior to their long tenure at Northwestern, Osborn taught class piano and private lessons at DePaul University from 1991 to 2001. Osborn holds a Doctor of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Northwestern University, a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Smith College.
