Intermedia Lab at Seoul National University’s College of Fine Arts was founded in 2002 under the direction of Professor Juhyun Eune. The lab advances research and education in interactive multimedia design, combining innovative ideas with the latest AI technologies to explore future-facing scenarios across UX and service design, branding, innovation strategy, and cross-cultural studies.

At the core of Intermedia Lab is an “inter-mediated design” approach that brings together media, technology, and design thinking to shape meaningful user experiences across diverse domains. We emphasize deep, interdisciplinary inquiry through integrated coursework and research, while fostering creative ideation and experimental making. Our projects often begin with user observation and insight, then evolve into future scenarios and clear, communicable outcomes—such as infographics and information visualization—guided by a structured, contemporary research process.

Our vision is to keep pace with the AI generation and create design research that measurably improves quality of life for users worldwide. By connecting technology with human needs and cultural context, Intermedia Lab proactively investigates emerging challenges and proposes new values and experiences that are relevant,
