Robert W. Allen

President & CEO at Intermountain Healthcare

Rob has accountability for the delivery of care and operations across the enterprise including 22 hospitals, Clinical Programs and Services and the Institute for Healthcare Leadership. Rob is leading Intermountain through a transition from fee-for-service based to value-based care consistent with Intermountain’s mission of helping people live the healthiest lives possible.

Rob is an accomplished healthcare executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience including Vice President, Clinical and Outreach Services, Region Vice President, Region Operations Officer, CEO and Administrator in highly competitive rural and urban markets. He has served as CEO of hospitals in Wyoming, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Utah and has broad knowledge leading in a variety of settings including for-profit, not-for-profit, established hospitals, new acquisitions, and start-up endeavors.

Rob is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, received his MBA from Utah State University and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Operations Management from Brigham Young University. He has actively participated in local community and healthcare organizations, as well as boards in each community he has served.
