Karlijn Kroon

Karlijn Kroon has extensive work experience in the medical field, with a focus on clinical consulting and general practice. Karlijn is currently working as the Medical Director at InteRNA Technologies BV since October 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Freelance Medical Consultant at Bexon Clinical Consulting, LLC, starting in September 2013. In this role, they had a strong clinical background in general practice and worked on a wide range of therapeutic areas, including oncology, diabetes, and psychiatry. Karlijn also gained expertise in running phase 1-3 clinical trials, medical monitoring, pharmacovigilance, and authoring regulatory documents.

Before their freelance consulting work, Karlijn served as a Huisarts/GP at Gezondheidscentrum de Roerdomp from April 2014 to February 2018, and as a Huisarts/GP as a freelancer from September 2011 to March 2014. Karlijn also worked as a Huisarts in opleiding/GP trainee at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam from March 2009 to August 2011.

Earlier in their career, Karlijn worked as a Physician revalidation/elderly care center at Zorgpartners Midden Holland from March 2008 to February 2009, and as a Physician psychiatric consultancy at Psychiatrisch consultatieve dienst VUmc from September 2007 to February 2008.

Karlijn also gained experience as a Project leader/Medical advisor at Aventis Pharma from 2001 to 2004, and as a Project Manager at NDDO Oncology BV from 1998 to 2000.

Karlijn Kroon's education history begins in 1988 when they attended Utrecht University. Karlijn completed their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Medical biology in 1994. Continuing their education, they enrolled at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) in 2001 and obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine in 2007.
