Gary Sharp is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in both the military and federal service. Since September 2019, Gary has served as the Deputy Associate Chief Counsel at the Internal Revenue Service. Previously, from July 2013 to August 2019, Gary held key leadership roles within the US Navy, including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Legal Counsel, where responsibilities included overseeing legal services for the Navy’s largest operational command and managing a significant legal team. Additionally, Gary served as a national security attorney and Deputy Legal Advisor at the National Security Council from February 2012 to July 2013, and as Legal Advisor to the Secretary of the Navy from July 2007 to July 2010. Gary holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Laws from The George Washington University Law School, a Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law, and a Master of Arts from National University.
