Matthew Corey

Matthew Corey, CPA, currently serves as an Internal Revenue Agent at the Internal Revenue Service since July 2024. Prior to this role, Matthew held various positions at LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors from July 2017 to July 2024, including Manager of Tax Services, where responsibilities included managing tax returns and engagements, preparing complex tax calculations, and developing client relationships. Matthew also has experience as a Senior Tax Accountant and Staff Tax Accountant within the same firm. Earlier, Matthew served in the United States Marine Corps from August 2005 to July 2013, achieving the rank of Infantry Sergeant and Company Training Non-Commissioned Officer, and was recognized for training and managing personnel effectively. Matthew earned both a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Louisiana State University between 2013 and 2017.
