Suzanna Carter Francis

Suzanna Carter Francis serves as the Senior Director in Epidemiology at IAVI since November 2021, focusing on the research and development of vaccine and antibody products. Previously, Suzanna was the Co Director at the WHO Collaborating Centre for STIs at LSHTM from April 2020 to November 2021, where responsibilities included overseeing work plans for STI control. With a long tenure at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, serving as Associate Professor and Director of the STI Research Interest Group, Suzanna led various research initiatives while mentoring students and junior staff. Career beginnings included clinical roles such as STD/HIV Nurse Practitioner with the San Francisco Department of Public Health. Suzanna holds a PhD in Infectious Disease Epidemiology and International Health, alongside other advanced degrees in public health and nursing from prestigious institutions.
