Robert Knowles has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Robert is currently serving as the President of the National Association of Homeowners since August 2020. Prior to this, they held the position of Charleston Chapter President in the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) starting from July 2018. In addition, they were a Chapter Member in the Structural Engineers Association of South Carolina starting from January 2018. Robert Knowles also has experience as the President/Chief Engineer of Knowles Inspection Services since January 2008. Before that, they worked as the Vice President in (PSI) Professional Services Industries, Inc. from 2005 to 2008. Their diverse work experience began in 1987 when they joined CME Associates, Inc., where they served as a Regional Manager for 18 years until 2005.
Robert Knowles attended Hobart and William Smith Colleges from 1979 to 1981, where they studied Pre-Med, Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Geology. Robert then transferred to South Dakota Mines and completed their Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering from 1981 to 1983. Their coursework at South Dakota Mines included Civil/Structural/Foundation Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, and Physics.
