Doug Rice

Doug Rice is an experienced professional in emergency services and non-profit leadership. Currently serving as the 9th District Event Coordinator for the IAFF Motorcycle Group since July 2016, Doug oversees planning for local rides and meetings, notably the IAFF Firefighter Memorial in Colorado Springs. Previously, Doug held the position of President of the Epilepsy Association of Utah until its dissolution in June 2021, after serving as Vice President. Doug also has extensive experience in publishing as the editor of "Backdraft" Magazine for the Salt Lake Valley Firefighters Association and spent 28 years with the Unified Fire Authority of Greater Salt Lake, retiring as a Fire Suppression Captain/Paramedic. Early career roles included serving as a firefighter for the City of West Jordan and working as a Fire Prevention/Security Specialist at ATK. Doug holds a Bachelor's Degree in Public Safety/Emergency Management from Utah Valley University and a Paramedic qualification from Weber State University.
