Smita Rajmohan has a diverse work experience spanning across different industries and roles. Smita is currently a Senior Product Counsel at Autodesk, where they lead the company's machine learning platform strategy and supports research and academia efforts in this space. Smita also serves as the legal lead for all aspects of Generative AI and provides day-to-day advice on product and feature development, including regulatory compliance and intellectual property protection.

Prior to their role at Autodesk, Smita worked as a Product Counsel at Apple, where they focused on legal issues related to machine learning, iPads, AirTag, and other special projects. Smita provided practical advice throughout the product development lifecycle and worked closely with engineering, product, marketing, and business teams. Smita also has experience briefing executives on high-risk issues and product launches, as well as collaborating with various cross-functional teams.

Before joining Apple, Smita was a Senior Associate at Cooley LLP, where they assisted both start-ups and established companies with drafting and negotiating commercial agreements. Smita provided legal advice on data privacy, data security, and mergers and acquisitions. Smita also managed deal teams and worked on a wide range of commercial and technology agreements.

Prior to Cooley LLP, Smita worked as an Associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where they advised clients on intellectual property and technology issues in corporate transactions. Smita managed cross-office teams and collaborated with foreign counsel.

Smita's previous experiences include working as an International Policy Volunteer Intern at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law, and an Associate/Attorney at the Supreme Court of India. Smita also served as a Summer Associate for Soli Sorabjee, Former Attorney General of India.

Throughout their career, Smita has demonstrated expertise in various legal areas, including technology transactions, intellectual property, data privacy, and regulatory compliance. Smita has a strong track record of providing strategic and practical legal advice and managing complex projects.

Smita Rajmohan attended the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law, where they studied Law and Technology, Information Privacy Law, and Intellectual Property Transactions. Smita completed their education at this institution in 2014. In addition to their formal education, Smita Rajmohan obtained the CIPP/US certification from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in April 2018. Smita also became the IAPP KnowledgeNet Chapter Chair at The International Association of Privacy Professionals in January 2021.
