Dr. Mariam Alhashmi

Dr. Mariam AlHashmi currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Education Studies, Associate Professor, and Graduate Program Coordinator at Zayed University, where employment commenced in September 2017. With extensive experience in educational leadership, Dr. AlHashmi has held various positions, including PYP Workshop Leader and School Visits Team Member at the International Baccalaureate Educators Network since May 2013, and Subject-Matter Advisor at the Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation since April 2021. Additional roles include Research Consultant for the Ministry of Education – UAE for a brief period in 2020 and Short Term Consultant for The World Bank in 2018 and 2019. Previous positions include Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Head of National Curriculum at Emirates National Schools from 2010 to 2017, as well as teaching roles at the Abu Dhabi Education Council and Abu Dhabi Educational Zone. Dr. AlHashmi’s academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Educational Management and Leadership from The British University in Dubai and a Public Sector Innovation Diploma from the University of Cambridge.
