Magdalena Balica

Magdalena Balica is a seasoned education policy research professional with extensive experience in academia and education consulting. Currently serving as the Senior Education Policy Research Manager at the International Baccalaureate since February 2019, Magdalena leads major strategic research initiatives that influence global education policies. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Researcher and Deputy Director at the Institute of Educational Sciences, where Magdalena focused on education research and methodology, as well as a position as Associate Professor at the University of Bucharest, delivering master's level courses on education project management. Additional roles include Education Consultant for The World Bank and University Associated Teacher at the National School for Administration and Political Sciences, along with a brief stint as an Online Learning Designer and Facilitator at the International Labour Organization. Magdalena holds a Doctor's Degree in Educational Sciences from the University of Bucharest.
