International Baccalaureate
Mark McGowan is an experienced educator and writer with a focus on English language instruction and program leadership. Currently serving as the English B Website Co-author at InThinking and the Deputy Academic Leader at The International School of Luxembourg, McGowan plays a crucial role in overseeing the IBDP Language A courses while teaching various English programs. McGowan has held multiple positions within the International Baccalaureate organization as a Program Leader for School Evaluation, IB Examiner, and IB Workshop Leader since 2001. Previous roles include Director of the IB and AP Programmes at the American Community School of Athens and Head of the English Department at the International School of Brussels. McGowan's educational background includes a PGCE from the University of Buckingham, a Master’s in Creative Writing from Emerson College, and a Bachelor’s in Communication Studies from Northwestern University.
