Olli-Pekka Heinonen

Olli-Pekka Heinonen currently serves as the Director General of the International Baccalaureate since May 2021. Previously, Olli-Pekka held the position of Chairman of the Board at Contineo and served as the Vice Chairman until May 2021. Olli-Pekka was the Director General of the Finnish National Agency for Education from January 2017 to May 2021. Additional experience includes roles as Chairman of the Board at Verkatehdas Oy and RTK-Palvelu Oy, as well as serving as State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance of Finland and the Prime Minister's Office of Finland. Olli-Pekka also contributed to YLEISRADIO, where roles included media director and Director of Television. Olli-Pekka holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Helsinki, completed from 1986 to 1990, and attended both Eurajoen Lukio and Ysleta High School.
