Professor Lisa-Dionne Morris

Chief International Examiner | Executive Leadership And Education at International Baccalaureate

Professor Lisa-Dionne Morris has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Professor Lisa-Dionne began their career in 2000 as the Senior Design Manager and Head of Tooling Production at Neale Plastics Limited. In 2002, they founded and led Lee Morris Design Limited, specializing in product design development and human activity and interaction design. Moving on to Bradford Girls' Grammar School in 2007, Professor Morris served as the Director and Chair of Academic Governance, focusing on strategic and educational planning and acting as an enterprise consultant. From 2017, they joined the International Baccalaureate as the Chief International Examiner, responsible for executive leadership and education. Finally, they are currently associated with the University of Leeds, starting in 2006 as an Associate Professor in Human Activity and Product Design and Chair of the Teaching Advisory Board. Professor Lisa-Dionne has recently transitioned to the role of Professor of Public and Industry Understanding of Capability Driven Design.

Professor Lisa-Dionne Morris has an educational background in design and robotics. Professor Lisa-Dionne completed a part-time study and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Institute of Design, Robotics, and Optimisation (IDRO) Research, Design, and Analyse Complex Systems from the University of Leeds from 2009 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Postgraduate Certificate (PG) in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education and another Postgraduate Certificate (PG) in Academic Practice, both from the University of Leeds, from 2006 to 2008.

Earlier in their academic journey, they pursued a Master of Art (MA) degree in Industrial Design with Distinction from the Royal College of Art from 1998 to 2000. Professor Lisa-Dionne also holds a Bachelor of Art (BA) degree in Industrial Design with First Class Honours from Northumbria University, which they completed from 1994 to 1998.
