Godfried De Vidts has extensive experience in financial markets, serving as Senior Advisor of the European Repo and Collateral Council at the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) since January 2000. In this role, Godfried participates in key European financial stability initiatives, including the ECB Contact Group on Euro Securities Infrastructures (Cogesi) and the Macroprudential Policies and Financial Stability Contact Group (MFCG), as well as the ESMA Secondary Markets Standing Committee Consultative Working Group. Godfried also held the position of Chairman of ICMA's European Repo & Collateral Council. Prior to this, Godfried was the Director of European Affairs for NEX Group from 2006 to 2018 and served as Head of Global Liquidity and Collateral Management at Fortis Bank from 1987 to 2005. Career beginnings included roles at the National Commercial Bank OBU in Bahrain and Kredietbank in both Bahrain and Brussels.
