Guðmundur Sigbergsson

Gudmundur Sigbergsson is an experienced leader and expert in the fields of carbon management, climate policy, and civil engineering. As the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at the International Carbon Registry since June 2020, Gudmundur has been instrumental in developing strategies for emissions management. Holding positions such as Sector Committee Chair for Environment and Climate at Staðlaráð Íslands and Council Fellow at the Blockchain & Climate Institute, Gudmundur actively contributes to advancing environmental standards. Previous roles include serving as Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at iCert Certification, Managing Director at the Central Bank of Iceland, and Risk Management Advisor at VSI Consulting Engineers. Gudmundur's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Háskóli Íslands and further studies at The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University.
