Susan kae Grant is an inventive and influential lens-based artist and educator, recognized as an early proponent of photographic book arts. With a career spanning decades, Grant established "The Black Rose Press" in 1976 and has produced twelve limited edition artists' books exploring themes such as feminist issues, identity, and science. Since 1993, Grant has been a visiting faculty member at the International Center of Photography, teaching a workshop on photographic bookmaking. From 1981 to 2017, Grant served as the Head of Photography & Book Arts at Texas Woman's University, where innovative undergraduate and graduate programs were developed. Grant holds both an MFA and a BS in Photography & Book Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
