Willy McGee has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Willy began their career in 2007 as a Search Engine Marketing Associate at Healthline Networks, Inc., where they were responsible for web-based advertising optimization and account management. Willy then worked as a Production Designer and Labor Manager at Radeff Design Studios, where they managed labor crews and handled the delivery and maintenance of A/Vi equipment and design elements.
In 2010, Willy served as an On-site Logistical Manager at San Jose State University Study Abroad Dordogne, coordinating travel itineraries and lodging arrangements for a mobile study abroad program. Willy was also responsible for the installation and maintenance of audio/visual equipment.
From 2011 to 2012, Willy worked as a Broadcast Engineer, Editor, and Archive Assistant at Progressive Radio Network. Willy then served as an Assistant Preparator at bitforms gallery nyc, where they assisted with the preparation and installation of artworks.
In 2012, Willy joined 3rd Ward as an Education Assistant, and later became a Product Manager. In this role, they handled product performance analysis and strategy, as well as product development in digital media, woodworking, and metalworking. Willy also managed instructor hiring, onboarding, and evaluation, and implemented company-wide pedagogical strategy. Additionally, they managed material procurement and inventory, developed and managed web content, and oversaw workflow management.
Following their time at 3rd Ward, Willy worked as an Account Manager at Blippar. Willy then became a Guest Instructor at the International Center of Photography, teaching courses on digital sound design, digital editing, and sound art.
In 2015, Willy had two freelance roles. Willy worked as a Producer/Assistant Director in film production and also served as a Producer/Sound Engineer. Both positions allowed him to utilize their skills and expertise in these fields.
Willy McGee's education history includes attending The New School, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Media Studies. Additionally, they also studied Cultural Anthropology and Ethnomusicology at the Institute for the Conservation of Tropical Environments.
