Jalal El Ahdab (Jil)

Jalal (Jil) EL AHDAB serves as a Partner in Arbitration & Dispute Resolution at Bird & Bird since September 2018 and has been an Arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport since 2010. In addition, Jalal holds the position of Co-Chair of the Arab Regional Forum at the International Bar Association and is an Approved Arbitrator for the International Centre for Dispute Resolution® (ICDR). Jalal's prior experience includes membership on the International Court of Arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce from July 2015 to July 2021, Chair of the European Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators from May 2018 to April 2021, and a Partner in International Arbitration at GINESTIE MAGELLAN PALEY-VINCENT from 2012 to September 2018. Jalal's background also includes work as Counsel at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, and Vivendi. Academically, Jalal has achieved a Doctorate in Law (PhD) from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, a Master of Laws (LLM) from Columbia Law School, and multiple degrees in business, economics, and law from various institutions including Sciences Po and Lebanese universities.
