John Sawdon

Associate Natural Resource And Environmental Economist

John Sawdon is an accomplished economist with extensive experience in renewable energy and sustainable development. Currently serving as a Principal Economist at AMPERES since January 2017, John focuses on the advancement of renewable electricity and micro-grid solutions in Southeast Asia. As an Independent Economic Consultant since June 2006, John specializes in natural resource management, climate change, and environmental issues. John also holds a position as an Associate Natural Resource and Environmental Economist at the International Centre for Environmental Management, contributing to various technical assistance and research projects across sectors such as energy and urban development. With a PhD in Economics from the University of East Anglia, John has also held research roles at the university and previously worked as a staff economist at Mekong Economics. Additional professional experience includes legal advisory roles and programming analysis. John’s educational background features degrees from respected institutions, including SOAS University of London and the University of Glasgow.
