International Chamber of Commerce
Anton Smitsendonk has extensive experience in international diplomacy, climate change advocacy, and business organization facilitation. Serving as Chairman of the China Carbon Forum since May 2007, Anton leads efforts in climate change protection and carbon trading. Involved with the International Chamber of Commerce since January 2001 as National Commissioner for both Thailand and Indonesia, Anton fosters communication between national committees and the ICC secretariat in Paris. Additionally, Anton has been Chief Editor at Voices-of-Europe.org, focusing on European and Asian cultural relations. Earlier roles include participation in the Thai delegation to the ILO and a long tenure as a Netherlands diplomat, culminating in an ambassadorship in China. Anton holds a doctorate in law and economics from Utrecht University.
