Anna af Ugglas

Anna af Ugglas currently serves as the Chief Executive at the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) since January 2025. Prior to this role, Anna held various positions at Laerdal Medical, including Midwifery Education Lead and Strategic Partnership Manager from September 2022 to January 2025. Experience at Laerdal Global Health spanned from August 2017 to October 2022, where Anna was Team Lead Pre-Service and Global Program and Implementation Manager. A consulting role with the World Health Organization in early 2017 focused on Midwifery and Water Sanitation and Hygiene. Previous experience includes serving as a Technical Specialist in Midwifery with UNFPA in Lao PDR and as a Technical and Programme Officer for Midwifery with UNFPA in Bangladesh, along with a decade-long position as a midwife at the Stockholm Schools Youth clinic from 2001 to 2010. Anna holds a Master's degree in Nursing Science Healthcare Education from Stockholm University and a Midwifery degree from Vårdhögskolan, Stockholm.
