Nathalie Gabach

Nathalie Gabach has extensive experience in translation and communication, currently serving as a French Translator at the International Court of Justice since April 2022. Prior to this role, Nathalie worked at the International Criminal Court in the same capacity from April 2019 to April 2022. Nathalie's career began in the translation sector with positions such as Translator at SDL plc and various roles at Invesco Canada, including French Communication Manager, Senior Translator, and Translator/Editor, spanning over two decades. Nathalie holds a Master of Arts in Language Interpretation and Translation from Université Toulouse - Jean Jaurès and a Bachelor of Arts in the same field from Université de Montpellier Paul-Valéry, as well as a college diploma in International Business from Lycée Jean Mermoz. Further training includes a one-year course in editing and proofreading from the Centre d'écriture et de communication in Paris.

International Court of Justice (ICJ) is the principal judicial organ of the United Nations (UN).The seat of the court is located at the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands. Of the six principal organs of the United Nations, it is the only one not located in New York. Its role is to settle, in accordance with international law, legal disputessubmitted to it by states and to give advisory opinions on legal questions referred to it by authorized United Nations organs and specialized agencies.ICJ is composed of 15 judges who are elected for terms of office of nine years by the United Nations General Assembly and the Security Council. It is assisted by a Registry, its administrative organ. Its official languages are English and French.International Court of Justice was established in June 1945 by the Charter of the United Nations and began work in April 1946.
