Amanda Weingarten is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in external affairs, development, and strategic communications within the nonprofit sector. Currently serving as the Chief of External Affairs at the International Crisis Group since 2020, Amanda leads a global team focused on advocacy to prevent and mitigate deadly conflict. Previous roles include Chief Development Officer at the International Crisis Group, where new philanthropy initiatives were created, and Senior Consultant at Graham-Pelton, delivering strategic fundraising services across various clients. Amanda has held leadership positions at The Citadel, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and the College of Charleston, building programs that increased philanthropic engagement and functionality. Additionally, Amanda founded PlayGround at the Royal National Theatre and served as Chief of Staff at Daniella Luxembourg Art. Amanda holds a BA in Art History from the University of Pennsylvania and has roots in the American School in London.
