Gioconda Carrera is a seasoned professional in development and international relations with extensive experience in various capacities across reputable organizations. Currently serving as a Development Officer for Government & Multilateral Relations at the International Crisis Group since April 2020, Gioconda has previously held key positions including Programme Director and Programme Manager at Women Political Leaders, and National Reports Officer at United Nations OCHA. Additional experience includes roles as Monitoring and Evaluation Research Coordinator at Observatorio Social del Ecuador, and various positions at UNHCR and other organizations. Gioconda holds an MA in Conflict Studies and Human Rights from Utrecht University, a BA in Economics with a supplementary major in Peace Studies from the University of Notre Dame, and is currently pursuing open courses in International Migrations, Development and Human Rights at FLACSO.
