Kevin Tiessen Ph.D. is a Senior Program Specialist in Climate Resilient Food Systems at the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) since January 2024 and also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Soil Science at the University of Manitoba since October 2022. With extensive experience at IDRC, Kevin Tiessen held several key positions including Program Leader for the Livestock Health Program, managing significant partnerships like the CA$57 million Livestock Vaccine Innovation Fund, and overseeing a CA$124 million portfolio within the Canadian International Food Security Research Fund across multiple regions. Previous roles include a Research Associate and Postdoctoral Fellow at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and a Visiting Researcher at Universidad de Costa Rica. Kevin Tiessen's academic achievements include a Ph.D. in Soil and Water Conservation from McGill University, a Master's Degree in Soil Sciences, and a Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy and Crop Science from the University of Manitoba.
