Betsy Ray

Betsy Ray is an accomplished public health advocate with extensive experience in diabetes education and legislative influence. As the Founder and Executive Director of Diabetes Activist since 2006, Betsy has conducted meta-analysis research to enhance health outcomes for individuals with diabetes and facilitated the establishment of November 14th as Colorado Diabetes Day. In the role of Legislative Influencer and Diabetes Lobbyist at the Colorado State Capitol, Betsy played a key role in the passage of Bill 1216, making Colorado a pioneering state in diabetes legislation. Additionally, as a U.S. Regional Representative for the International Diabetes Federation, Betsy contributes to national diabetes initiatives. Engagements include presenting at the RMADE Conference and TEDx Vail, where advocacy against diabetes stigma and enhanced awareness were pivotal themes. Betsy also successfully owned and managed Belvedere Belgian Chocolates from 2000 to 2005, demonstrating entrepreneurial skills with significant business growth.
