IDF Young Leader In Diabetes Trainee 2022-2024 at International Diabetes Federation

Kirsten de Klerk is a dedicated advocate for diabetes awareness and support, serving as Co-Founder of SA Diabetes Advocacy since May 2020, aiming to amplify the voice of the estimated 4 million individuals living with diabetes in South Africa. In addition, Kirsten holds the position of IDF Young Leader in Diabetes Trainee for 2022-2024 with the International Diabetes Federation and is Campaign Manager at Treeshake. Kirsten has also contributed to the Diabetes Alliance as a Board Member from January 2021 to December 2023 and was co-founder of Bete It, a non-profit focused on supporting Type 1 diabetics. Previous experience includes roles as Marketing and Distribution Executive at TBI Group and Marketing Intern at Ora Fund Managers. Kirsten holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Management from IIE Varsity College and completed high school at Springfield Convent of the Holy Rosary.
