Shaukat Sadikot

Imm. Past President at International Diabetes Federation

Shaukat Sadikot has a diverse range of experiences in the medical field. Shaukat served as the Imm. Past President of the International Diabetes Federation from 2018 onwards. Prior to that, they were the Editor-in-Chief of Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome: Clinical Research and Reviews since 2008. Shaukat also held the position of Executive Board Member in the International Atherosclerosis Association since 2006. In 2001, they became the President of DiabetesIndia. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Consultant at Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai starting from 1989. Additionally, they served as the Vice President of the International Diabetes Federation from 2006 to 2012.

Shaukat Sadikot completed their secondary education at St. Xavier's High School in Mumbai from 1956 to 1967, obtaining a S.S.C. degree. Shaukat then attended Beverly Hills High School in Beverly Hills, USA, for a year from 1967 to 1968. Later, Sadikot enrolled at Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India, where they studied medicine from 1970 to 1978 and earned an MD degree.
