Delphine Carlens has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Delphine started their career as an intern at Germanwatch, where they worked on research projects related to sustainable development. Delphine then interned at UNDP in the Unit for Prospective and Strategies, conducting research on various topics. Delphine later had an internship at the International Criminal Court, specifically in the Immediate Office of the Registrar, where they assisted with presentations and speeches. Delphine also worked as an intern at the European Commission in the DG Development, focusing on policy coordination and project management. Delphine then joined the French Coalition for the International Criminal Court as a coordinator, handling internal and external coordination tasks. Delphine also worked at the Université Paris Nanterre as a teaching associate for their Master 1 program in International Criminal Law. Delphine is currently associated with FIDH -Fédération internationale des ligues des droits de l'Homme, where they have held different roles in the International Justice Desk, including Deputy Head and currently Head of the department.

Delphine Carlens has a diverse education history. In 1989 to 1997, they attended Lycée International de Saint Germain-en-Laye where they obtained a Baccalauréat ES with a specialization in economic and social sciences. Delphine then went on to study at Lycee Claude Monet, Paris in 1997 to 1998 and completed a Hypokhâgne program. Delphine continued their education at Sciences Po from 1998 to 2001 and received a Diploma of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) at the master's level in the field of Relations et affaires internationales. From 2001 to 2002, Delphine pursued a French-German diploma in political and social sciences at Freie Universität Berlin. Delphine furthered their studies at the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne from 2002 to 2003 and obtained a DESS Administration internationale degree in the field of Droit international et études juridiques internationales. Lastly, in 2017, they attended the IICI - Institute for International Criminal Investigations, where they completed the International Investigator Course in the field of Droit international et études juridiques internationales.
