Scott Hanson has a diverse background in policy and regulatory roles within the financial industry. Scott is currently the Director of Policy and Global Engagement at IFAC since July 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Public Policy & Regulation at IFAC from February 2021 to July 2022. Before joining IFAC, Scott worked as a Principal - Public Policy & Regulation at IFAC from July 2019 to February 2021. Scott also served as a Senior Policy Specialist at the Central Bank of Ireland from November 2017 to June 2019. Scott's earlier experience includes roles at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and NYSE, where they held various analyst positions focusing on international regulatory matters and market regulation.

Scott Hanson has a Bachelor's degree in Global History from the University of Chicago. Scott also holds a Doctor of Law (JD) degree in Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law from Brooklyn Law School.
