Roberto Longo serves as the Country Director for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Tajikistan at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) since June 2022, while temporarily coordinating the Sahel Regional Initiative, IFAD’s first regional lending operation in Africa. Prior to this role, Roberto worked at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) as a Rural Institutions Officer and held several significant positions at IFAD from 2002 to 2020, including Senior Procurement Officer and Senior Technical Specialist for Farmers' Organizations and Markets. Roberto's earlier career includes research roles at ISAE, the OECD Development Centre, and IZI METHODS, along with a strong academic background in Development Economics from the University of Sussex and Statistics and Economics from Università di Roma La Sapienza.
