Benjamin Shawa

Benjamin Shawa serves as a County Economist at the International Growth Centre since October 2022. Prior to this role, Benjamin held the position of Senior Economist at the Ministry of Finance and National Planning from July 2022 to October 2022, and worked as an Economist at the Ministry of Finance Zambia from November 2015 to July 2022. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Economics from Williams College (2019 - 2020), a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development, Family Studies, and Related Services, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies, both from the University of Zambia (2010 - 2014). Earlier education was completed at St. Charles Lwanga Minor Seminary (BAHATI) from 2004 to 2008.
