Wael Habbal

Development Communications Intern at International House

Wael Habbal is an experienced leader and advocate for human rights, currently serving as a Resident Leader Fellow at International House since September 2023, participating in a full academic year leadership training program. As a co-founder of the Syrian and Greek Youth Forum since January 2018, Wael has been instrumental in promoting human rights through art, activism, and education. Previous roles include serving as an educator at Columbia University's Negotiation and Conflict Resolution program, a scholar with the Obama Foundation, and a program coordinator for Migrant Connections at the University of Utah. Wael's expertise also extends to career counseling, cultural mediation for unaccompanied minors, and project management with the Onassis Foundation, demonstrating a strong commitment to community engagement and support for immigrant and refugee populations. Wael is currently pursuing further education at Columbia University.
