Kevin Casas-Zamora

Kevin Casas-Zamora serves as the Secretary General at International IDEA since August 2019 and is also the Managing Partner at Analítica Consultores del Istmo, a consulting firm focusing on political risk analysis. Since 2015, Kevin holds the position of Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Inter-American Dialogue, where research revolves around rule of law, democratic governance, and human rights in Latin America. Previously, Kevin has held significant roles, including Secretary for Political Affairs at the Organization of American States, Senior Fellow at The Brookings Institution, and Second Vice President of Costa Rica. Kevin's educational background includes a PhD in Political Science from the University of Oxford, an MA in Latin American Government from the University of Essex, and a JD from Universidad de Costa Rica.
