Tonderai Mazingaizo

Tonderai Mazingaizo has extensive experience in finance and operations management. Tonderai is currently the Regional Head of Finance and Operations for Africa and West Asia at International IDEA. In this role, they oversee finance, budget, grants management, monitoring and evaluation, human resources, security, and ICT functions. Prior to this, Tonderai held the position of Director of Finance & Operations at Afghanaid, where they provided strategic decision support and leadership for various departments. Tonderai also served as the Financial and Operations Controller at the NEPAD Business Foundation and as a member of the Board of Advisors at the Humanitarian Information Facility Centre. Tonderai has worked in finance and grants management roles at organizations such as Environment Africa, ASI, Deutsche Welle Akademie, and Media Monitoring Project Zimbabwe. Overall, they have demonstrated expertise in financial management, compliance, and strategic decision-making throughout their career.

Tonderai Mazingaizo completed a Bachelor of Accountancy Honours degree in Accountancy at the University of Zimbabwe from 2002 to 2005. Following this, from 2008 to 2011, Tonderai pursued an MPhil in Development Finance at Stellenbosch University, specializing in Development Finance.

In terms of additional certifications, Tonderai obtained the title of Chartered Development Finance Analyst from the Chartered Institute of Development Finance in March 2021. Additionally, in February 2015, Tonderai became a Risk Associate through the IRMSA-Institute of Risk Management South Africa.
