Erin Pobjie

Erin Pobjie is a distinguished academic and professional in the field of international law and security, currently serving as a Senior Fellow for Space at the International Institute for Strategic Studies since September 2025 and as a Senior Research Affiliate at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law since August 2019. Previously held the position of British Academy Global Innovation Fellow at the German Council on Foreign Relations and worked as a Fellow at UNIDIR — UN Institute for Disarmament Research. Erin also teaches as an Assistant Professor of International Law at the University of Essex, where key roles included Co-Deputy Director of the Human Rights Centre Clinic and Co-Lead of the Essex Digital Verification Unit. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in International Law from the University of Cologne and multiple degrees from the University of Melbourne, University of Essex, and other prestigious institutions.
